Indian telecom operator Airtel has launched their latest broadband technology V-Fiber in Ahmedabad recently. They claim to be able to achieve internet speed upto 100 MBPS with their V-Fiber over the already existing broadband footprint in the city.
What is V-Fiber?
V-Fiber is a broadband technology which works on vectorization. It is said to enable superfast data speeds along with HD video streaming and uploads in a multi-device environment. This latest technology has been developed as a part of Airtel’s transformation initiative known as Project Leap.
According to Murthy Changati, CEO – Gujrat , Bharti Airtel, With ‘V-Fiber’, they will be offering a renovated experience on their future ready network to the digitally nous homes. He states that this solution offers a speedy and convenient upgrade to their customer.
As per the plans, new customers will get a three month unlimited offer at first. They can then subsequently choose their V-Fiber plans starting from Rs 999 according to their requirements.
And apart from that, Airtel’s ‘myHome Rewards’ program will also be providing additional data benefits of 5GB per month for every other Airtel service connection – postpaid mobile or DTH – within the same home. The telco also announced that they will offer unlimited voice calling to all their broadband customers.
ET had reported at the launch of V-Fiber by Airtel in Mumbai on Wednesday that Airtel is continuously investing across all establishments to provide broadband for modernizing existing broadband services also to make it future proof i.e, ready for future in the words of Sameer Batra, CEO – Mumbai, Bharti Airtel to ET in a telephonic conversation. He emphasised heavily on the project leap also which he claims will be a game changer in Indian telecom market.
Existing Airtel broadband customers can also upgrade to V-Fibre. They just have to replace their old modems with new ones for Rs 1000. The payment for this exchange will be made through installments of Rs 200 over five months.
