Some decades back, the hit Sundance movie Tangerine was shot completely on an Apple iPhone 5S – surprisingly good results. And last year, Steven Soderbergh did the exact same the exact same thing while creating Unsane, with his only camera being an Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Whilst much more than a camera equipment goes into creating these films look the way they do, the reality that professional filmmakers are using cameras which a lot of us keep in our pockets is a fairly encouraging sign with regards to what we ought to be capable to produce. I wanted to test just what you could do to enhance your phone’s photo- and video taking capabilities, so that I tried out a couple different things: a few add-on lenses, a mic, and a stabilizer.
You may watch the results in the video above. The one thing that I was especially intrigued in was add-on lenses, that match on top of your phone’s existing lens to offer a different area picture quality. The best known of those come from Moment, however Moment’s lenses are costly, they are around $90 to $100. So I tried out some more affordable lenses out of no name firms on Amazon. It ends up, of view and possibly even better. So yeah, if you are serious about getting more from your phone’s camera, those pictures should make it clear that it is worth paying more, in all cases, Moment’s lenses have been brighter, sharper, and more straightforward to look at.
That said, if you are just curious about what add-on lenses may do and wish to explore some fun effects, I do not think you’d be too upset with the affordable lenses, as long as you do not devote much greater than $10. The 3 lens kit which I got was only $12, and that I likely got $12 of pleasure from it. I simply would not shoot anything too important with them.
