WhatsApp messaging app is one of the most popular messengers ever entering the market. With features including text messaging, voice messaging, audio and video calling, sharing of pics, videos, GIF and files, WhatsApp is the most complete instant messenger ever created. WhatsApp allows users to share their pictures in it. And these images get automatically saved in the gallery of the phone. And with this, they get mixed up with our regular pics sometimes. To avoid this, the best solution is to hide these images and videos from your gallery. So, this article is for those people completely frustrated with their WhatsApp images and videos getting saved into their galleries. Today, I will tell you the methods to avoid this from happening.
How to Hide WhatsApp Images from Gallery (Android)
Step 1: Open the File Manager. You can use your phone’s default file manager or download different file manager apps also. Some of the best file managers are ES File Explorer, Root Explorer and ASUS File Manager.
Step 2: Open the WhatsApp Media folder in the file manager now. You can find it in Home >> SD card >> WhatsApp >> Media.
Step 3: Now you will find a sub-folder there named “WhatsApp Images”.
Step 4: Rename the folder to “.WhatsApp Images”.
Step 4: You can also create a file named “.nomedia” inside the folder. Just click the “+” button at the bottom to create the new file.
Step 5: After “Step 4”, you will find that the WhatsApp folder has become invisible when you open your gallery. But if it is still there, you have to clear the app cache in your device. Just Go to Settings -> App Manager or Apps -> Clear Cache. Also turn off the Hidden Files option.
Android OS actually depends on the Linux kernel. So, if we include ‘. Or period‘ before a folder or file name, it will turn out to be totally undetectable.
