Glass became the material of choice for superior cellular phones, also it looks like that is set to stay in vogue this year. As my colleague Vlad Savov notes Twitter, majority of the 2018 flagship phones will contain glass from front to rear. The Nokia 8 Sirocco, Samsung’s Galaxy S9 devices, Sony’s Xperia XZ2, ZTE’s newest Blade V9, along with the Asus Zenfone 5 most feature glass backs. Last year’s LG V30 and Huawei’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro devices used glass, and people businesses are expected to announce new phones this year comprising more of the reflective material.

It looks like most of the forthcoming flagships from phone business will feature glass backs. LG shown the G7 telephone at MWC a week ago with a glass back, whereas leaked pictures of upcoming phones from Huawei and OnePlus indicate the same. HTC is also expected to announce a brand new flagship and we may expect the company to incorporate a glass of back on the new device, given the company has been producing telephones with that feature because the beginning of 2017. Blackberry may prove the exception, but it is hardly a major, phone brand in 2018.
