Moto M to Get Nougat Update Soon, Company Confirms

Today, Motorola launched its first all-metal smartphone in India, Moto M. It comes with full metal design and a fingerprint scanner on the back and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the company has confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat update will be available soon.

The announcement was made by Motorola via a tweet, but it didn’t reveal the exact time of OS update.

Motorola India tweeted, “The phone is out there, and the Nougat update will be out soon”. The Lenovo-owned company has already rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphone in India.moto

With the enhanced multitasking and better notification control, Android 7.0 Nougat claims to redefine overall experience of the operating system. It also includes better battery and data saving features.

Other efficiency-centered features in Nougat are work mode, quick switching between apps and the much awaited multi-window view. Some of the stability improvements in OS include Doze on the Go, Data Saver and other features.

In addition to that, some other features like improved system backup coverage, lock screen wallpaper, suggested settings, improved navigation, quick settings bar, custom quick settings are also a part of latest update.

Priced at INR 15,999, the handset will be available on Flipkart exclusively; starting 14th December at 11:59 PM. Flipkart will be offering various launch day offers for Moto M. Citibank credit card users will get Rs 1,000 off on the new device. Customers can also get a special exchange offer of up to Rs 2,000 on their old smartphones. The EMI options start at Rs 776/month.
