Pay For Everything With Just A Selfie-Mastercard

Yes, you heard that right! For a generation obsessed with selfies, Mastercard has given us yet another reason to keep the selfie craze on.
Just about a year back, Mastercard had announced that they were preparing to launch a payment validation service through facial recognition and fingerprints. It seems that that dream has finally become a reality as the first Identity Check Mobile will be launched in Europe.
The Identity Check Mobile is a mobile application that validates payments using biometric data, fingerprints and facial recognition to verify the identity of the cardholder.
While, the idea of taking selfies to make payments is all too exciting, you might want to practice for it. Just like any password service, the facial recognition feature of Identity Check Mobile checks for similarities in facial patterns. So, it might just be good to use a selfie that you can replicate all year long.
An added security feature is the blink feature. To ensure that a person is present and aware of authorizing the payment, the facial recognition requires you to blink to accept your identity.
The launch of Identity Check Mobile will be done in a phased manner over the next year, and presently, 12 European countries will be privy to the service. United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden, have already been made available to the much awaited service. There have been no mentions of a launch in India, but is expected to happen over the next one year.
Ajay Bhalla, President of Enterprise Risk & Security at Mastercard, was quoted saying: “Shopping in person has been revolutionized thanks to advances like contactless cards, mobile payments and wearables, and now we are making Identity Check Mobile a reality for online shopping in Europe, and soon, the world.”
Say goodbye to the hassle of remembering passwords or PIN codes, Identity Check Mobile aims to be the revolution in cashless payment service options. Click site.
