There has been a lot of news regarding Reliance Jio lately. Now that it has already dominated the Indian telecom market, all new strategies adopted by other companies have failed.
Recently Airtel also offered V-Fiber Broadband service but only in those places where it’s broadband service already exists. Similarly other telecom companies have also tried to offer new services or innovate their tariff plans. But no innovation is competent against free services. Right?
The current market dominator, Reliance Jio, is already offering free voice calls, SMS and unlimited 4G data to its customers. Reliance Jio said in a statement that their main focus is to make “free voice calling for Local, STD and National roaming for all times.”
As per Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Reliance Jio’s new tariff plan of unlimited free voice calls is not unfair. TRAI said that “It is found that the tariff plans filed with TRAI cannot be considered as IUC non-complaint, predatory, and discriminatory at present.”
Airtel, Idea, Vodafone and many other telecom operators appealed TRAI against unlimited free voice call service offered by Reliance Jio. They called it predatory, non-complaint, and discriminatory to present rules of TRAI.
Reliance Jio reacted to TRAI’s letter by saying that, “This (TRAI’s letter) clearly establishes the fact that all the tariffs offered by RJIL are in compliance with the prevailing regulations. A key feature of RJIL’s tariff packs is free to voice calling for Local, STD, and National roaming for all times.”
And as for the Reliance Jio Info com limited filing with TRAI. “The Jio Welcome Offer will be available to all the customers for subscription until December 3, 2016. RJIL wishes to reconfirm that JWO benefits of free unlimited voice and data will continue to be available to all subscribers until December 31, 2016.”
The Reliance Jio has also affirmed that they are going to expand with more consumer-friendly offers and tariffs. This will be to enhance the consumer experience.
