That why, we are here to tell you about a special feature of Windows OS, that is to time your computer shutdown.
Make Your Computer Shutdown At Given Particular Time
The Windows OS comes with an important function which most of the people are unaware of, that is known as Task Scheduler. Like the name suggests, it scheduled your important tasks for you. So, you can use it to schedule your computer Shutdown or Restart also.
Step 1: First of all, open the run window (Windows Key + R). Then type “taskschd.msc” without quotation marks
Step 2: Now when the Task Scheduler window opens up, find and click on “Create Basic Task” tab
Step 3: After clicking on that, you will be asked to give the task a name and description. Do the same and then click next.
Step 4: Now you’ll be asked when do you want the task to start. Simply select “One Time” and click on the Next button.
Step 5: You’ll be directed to a new page. Now, you have to set the start date and time of the task and click next.
Step 6: Now choose the option “Start a Program”
Step 7: Here comes the tricky part. In the “Program/Script” box, type shutdown. Now script “ –s –f –t 0” in “Add Arguments” box. You need to replace 0 with the amount of time after which you want your computer to shut down. For example if you want shut down to start in 10 minutes (600 seconds) then type ‘ –s –f –t 0’. Then click on Next.
Step 8: The last step, check all the details of your scheduled task in the summary window and click on Finish button to set the schedule.
