Samsung has announced that it’s launching the worlds largest SSD, the company has announced that it’s now starting mass production of its new 30TB solid state drive. The new Samsung SSD is double the size of the previous largest SSD and it’s also significantly quicker than the previous model. Samsung Electronics, the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced that it’s begun mass producing the industry’s largest capacity Serial Attached SCSI solid state drive – the PM1643 – to be used in next generation enterprise storage systems.
Leveraging Samsung’s latest V NAND technology with 64 layer, 3 bit 512 gigabits chips, the 30.72 terabyte drive delivers twice the capacity and performance of the previous 15.36TB High Capacity Range introduced in March 2016.
